Earth Mechanics, Inc. currently has openings for the following positions:

Staff Engineer (Fountain Valley, CA)

Work under the supervision of a Project Engineer, and perform geotechnical investigations, including site investigation, logging soil samples, and observation of CPT operations. Prepare logs of test borings using computer programs such as GINT, AUTOCAD and MICROSTATION. Analyze subsurface soil and groundwater conditions and assist in performing design for deep and shallow foundations. Perform probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard evaluation, liquefaction and seismic settlement evaluations, lateral spreading evaluation, static and pseudo-static slope stability analyses, static settlement evaluation, lateral earth pressure estimation, and pavement structural section design. Assist in preparing geotechnical design reports and geotechnical investigation reports.

The position requirements are as follows:


Senior Staff Engineer to Project Engineer (Fountain Valley, CA)

Work under the supervision of Principal, and supervise geotechnical investigations, assign soil/rock laboratory tests, and review log test borings prepared by staff engineers/technicians. If needed, prepare log of test borings using computer programs such as GINT, AUTOCAD and MICROSTATION. Analyze subsurface soil and groundwater conditions and perform design for deep and shallow foundations. Perform probabilistic and deterministic seismic hazard evaluation, liquefaction and seismic settlement evaluations, lateral spreading evaluation, static and pseudo-static slope stability analyses, static settlement evaluation, lateral earth pressure estimation, and pavement structural section design. Prepare geotechnical design reports and geotechnical investigation reports.
